About the ensemble
Jazz Band is an audition-only ensemble that meets as a 5th-block / "0" credit class at 7:00 AM in the spring semester. Members explore some of the finest big band literature — swing, Dixieland, funk, and blues — from Count Basie to Gordon Goodwin.
Performances & recognition
Jazz Band performs at many community events and school functions and travels to local and NCBA jazz events, consistently scoring Superior ratings at NCBA Jazz Music Performance Adjudication.
